This work package coordinated by FILIA Centre (Romania) dives deep into how digital content (such as memes, videos and online comments etc.) shapes young people’s understanding of gender roles, stereotypes, and even issues like gender-based violence and more specifically cyberviolence.

“Double Tap for Gender Awareness: Social Media’s Role in Shaping Youth Views on Gender Stereotypes and Gender-Based Violence”
What it is
“Double Tap for Gender Awareness: Social Media’s Role in Shaping Youth Views on Gender Stereotypes and Gender-Based Violence” is an exploratory study that delves into how online platforms are influencing the mindsets of today’s youth. The report includes insights from over 200 survey responses gathered from teenagers across four countries, an analysis of the content from the top 14 influencers chosen by the respondents, and 15 examples of best practices from influencers who use social media to create safe spaces and address issues like sexism, gender-based violence, bullying, and harassment.
